Remedial education is a science of education intended to help children overcome their learning difficulties in reading, writing or mathematics.

It also allows children to find their own learning strategy over the sessions.

Thanks to her sensitivity and her pedagogical experience of more than fifteen years, Céline Azou takes into account the needs and abilities of your child according to her age and personality to develop her potential as well as possible.

Remedial education is designed to give your child a taste for learning and make him aware of his skills thanks to progressive pedagogy using tailor-made tools and games.

Tomatis® method

For adults and children from 3 years old

“The voice only reproduces what the ear hears”Alfred Tomatis.

 

Developed in 1953 by Alfred Tomatis, a French doctor in otolaryngology, the Tomatis® method is a natural and non-invasive neurosensory auditory stimulation program.

It improves listening, attention, communication, balance and learning.  

The Tomatis® method is a gentle pedagogy which consists of filtered and modified music listening sessions.

These listening programs aim to naturally train your brain to sustainably develop your motor, emotional and cognitive faculties.

 

This teaching method is aimed at children from 3 years old as well as adults.

Holiday courses

From 6  in 10 years

Holiday courses are ideal for primary school students to allow everyone to progress in a way adapted to their level. These courses, where the number of students is limited, encourage in-depth work on specific objectives, in connection with school programs or on artistic or creative themes, in the form of a project for the week.


Céline Azou accepts up to three children maximum per workshop to allow everyone to produce and express themselves freely at their own pace.

From 6  in 10 years

Brainy-funny workshops are thematic educational activities that promote the cognitive and cultural development of children.  

Three workshops are offered per week: Painters and techniques, mythology and mathematical games.

Céline Azou accepts up to three children maximum per workshop to allow everyone to produce and express themselves freely at their own pace.

Sensory awakening

Our toddler workshop is aimed at the little ones from 18 months to 3 years old.

Spend a privileged moment of complicity and shared happiness with your child.  

Contribute to the awakening of your toddler thanks to rich and stimulating activities for educational purposes created to measure by Céline Azou.

This workshop contributes in a benevolent way to the motor and psychoaffective development of your child.  

Your toddler can also be accompanied by a grandparent, a close relative or a childminder.

French Lessons

For adults and non-French-speaking children from 4 years old 

You will never look at language courses the same way again.  

Céline AZOU's French courses are based on progressive learning and a working alliance created with the learner.  

Our experienced teacher develops a program based on tailor-made educational materials according to the needs of his student.  

Through practice, involvement and real cooperation, Céline Azou teaches you to speak, read and write in French.

Does the Tomatis® method provide significant results?

Yes, and a lot of research demonstrates its benefits. The impact of the Tomatis® method depends on your profile or that of your child. Nevertheless, certain factors may have a significant influence on its effects:

  • Motivation: the Tomatis® Method is a neurosensory stimulation program whose sessions it is important to follow regularly. It requires significant personal involvement. For this reason, there is no need to force reluctant children or adolescents. In the same vein, it is important that you or your child know why you are using this method and how it can help you.

  • Age: the Tomatis® method is particularly effective on young people because of their brain plasticity. However, there is no age limit for its use.

  • Supervision: listening sessions must be supervised by the help of a professional.

  • Follow-up: it is important to follow the recommended sequence for the sessions and not to interrupt them before the end of the entire program (at least 2 sessions).

Can the services be done remotely or at home?

The following services can only be provided on site at the Fabrique Cognitive de Sceaux: Orthopedagogy, Sensory Awakening, Internships during school holidays, Brainy-funny workshops at the weekend.

 

The Tomatis® method begins with a preliminary interview which must take place on site. The listening sessions take place at home (except in exceptional cases where they take place at the Fabrique Cognitive de Sceaux).

 

French as a foreign language courses can be given on site or remotely.

As a parent, do I have to attend my child's remedial education sessions?

During the first session, the presence of a parent is necessary, in order to get to know each other and identify the needs of the child. For the following sessions, devoted to remedial work with your child, the presence of an adult is not recommended.

What is the difference between orthopedagogy and tutoring?

Remedial education differs from simple tutoring because, not only does it make up for gaps or academic delays, but it helps the child learn better. Indeed, thanks to specific materials and tools, often developed by Céline Azou, orthopedagogy gives the child keys to define his own learning strategies. In addition, orthopedagogy makes it possible to work on attention, concentration, memorization and motor skills.

Is it possible to have French as a foreign language lessons in small groups?

In principle, yes. Each request is considered on a case-by-case basis. It is possible to form groups of 2 to 4 students, of the same age group or of the same level.

We are of foreign origin and my child is not yet old enough to take French lessons. However, can I enroll him in Eveil Sensoriel?

Absolutely ! During this privileged moment with your child, an introduction to French will be provided.
